Awla's
programs are varied depending on the Donor funding or categories
of project under implementation.
UNICEF
The project targets the training of Police personnel in the junior
rank[nco's].
The program started in the year 2000 and would be completed in 2004.
It is envisaged that at the end of the period at least one personnel
in every police station in the country would be trained in issues
relating to child rigths and handling cases relating to domestic
voilence.
DANIDA.
Police
Project.
The training started in 1999 and targeted the senior police officers
mostly crime officers,prosecutors,investigators and some commisioners
of police.
Dissemination of Legislation.
It involves the compilation and simplification of Laws on Domestic
Violence to all P olice stations in Ghana and additionally Laws
on Gender relating to issues affecting Women,
Training
of Magistrates:
Training of magistrate son Domestic Violence and gender issues.
Domestic
Violence:
National training program for security agencies on Domestic Violence
and preparation of manuals on Domestic Violence for the Ghana Police
Service.

Gender awareness and sensitisation programs for Distrit Assemblies
in Ghana.
Save
the Children [ Sweden]
Intergrating child rights and child protection into the military
curricula and training syllabi of the Ghanaian military in line
with I nternational Instruments.

Human Rights Law Group[ US]
Advocacy on inheritance rights- including organising annual Day
of Action to sensitise policy makers,legislators and communities
on the inequitable inheritance rights which is inical to the rights
of women in Africa.
Human
Rights Fund [ US Embassy]
Conducting national survey on the incidence of sexual harassment
in Ghana and to come out with appropriate advocacy strategies to
sexual harassment in the workplace and in academia.
Property
Rights.:
Advocacy on equitable property rights legislation for women in Ghana.
