"Inhaled chloroform as a remedy for cholera"

The author urges extreme caution in the administration of chloroform by inhalation to cholera victims. Since "the appearances of disorganization and venous congestion observed after death from both causes [chloroform overdose and cholera] being similar, such a remedy would appear to be contra-indicated in this disease, as being likely to induce the consequences it was intended to prevent" (286).

He concludes with five specific conclusions.
