Matrix has developed the infrastructure for managing and delivery digital objects through the creation of an application called KORA. KORA is a database driven, online digital repository that allows institutions to ingest, manage, and deliver digital objects and their corresponding metadata. KORA is unique in that it can accommodate any metadata scheme without altering its’ table structure or design. This allows projects with vastly different collections and metadata to use the same architecture to create their digital library. KORA requires virtually no technical expertise to use. It allows non-technical users to develop metadata schemes to describe their digital objects and these schemes automatically generate ingestion forms to develop that metadata and move their digital objects to our servers. It also facilitates the creation of complex digital object by associating digital objects together to form compound objects such as image galleries, lesson plans, story chapters, etc…
