Arts & Letters 410

AL 410 will provide a space for students to create advanced Web sites that focus on user-centered design. The course will provide a conceptual introduction to Web usability, information architecture, Web rhetoric, and visual literacy. Topics will include, but are not limited to, using an HTML editor (Dreamweaver), designing Web graphics (Fireworks and Photoshop), creating interactive pages (javascript and Flash), using multimedia (video and audio), and site management. Although this course will focus heavily on Internet technologies, knowledge of Web design is not a prerequisite. We will learn the technology as we work, sharing our various levels of expertise.
